No Films Will Be Leaked Online Now! Here’s Censor Board’s MASTER PLAN

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has been under fire since Pahlaj Nihalani has taken over as its chief because of his “Sanskari” attitude along with the demand of good number of cuts. However, things turned really ugly when some movies including “Udta Punjab” and “Great Grand Masti” leaked online and CBFC was blamed for it.

Now CBFC has come up with a method which will completely remove the chances of films getting leaked online.

Yes, you read it right! As per a report published in Mumbai Mirror, now all the movie makers will need to submit their movies in DCP format for certification.

DCP is Digital Cinema Package format in which the audio, image and data streams are saved digitally. Normally, the movie makers and the distribution team depend on the digital format of the movie making sure that it goes well with all the digital equipment. This helps in getting the quality check of production before the release.

The movie will be uploaded digitally and for watching it, a password will be required but that too will work for a limited period of time after which nobody will be able to watch the movie from that source, leaving no chance of getting it leaked.

Indian Film and Television Producers Council (IFTPC) member and movie maker Vijay Galani said,

“This stance has been appreciated by the IFTPC. There are huge costs involved and we are reducing the number of people who will have access to the final print before release. DCP leaves no scope for mischief.”

This rule will come into force from September 1.

Do you think this will work and no movie will be leaked online after its implementation? Let us know your views in the comments section below.
