In the older times, filmmakers used to rope in dancers such as Rakhi Sawant, Yana Gupta, etc. for item numbers but in present times, makers don’t mind paying a huge amount for signing a popular actress with a huge fan following for an item song. The same is the reason that we have seen big actresses like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tamannaah Bhatia, etc. doing item songs but do you know which actress charges the most for an item dance number?

Well, Samantha Ruth Prabhu surprised everyone when she did “Oo Antava” song of movie “Pushpa” as it was quite a raunchy track. A source revealed that initially Samantha was very reluctant in doing the song and the lead actor of the movie Allu Arjun had to convince her personally. The source further said that though she had some reservations about dance steps, later on she did the song without making any changes.

As per the reports, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was paid around Rs. 5 crore for the 3-minute item song which is currently the highest amount that has been paid to any actress for an item number.

If we talk about other actresses, it is being said that Nora Fatehi and Sunny Leone charge the same amount, i.e., Rs. 2 crore for an item song. While Katrina Kaif charges a little more than Rs. 2 crore, Jacqueline Fernandez is among the highest paid as she gets paid Rs. 3 crore. Talking about Kareena Kapoor Khan, she charges Rs. 1.5 crore and her friend Malaika Arora charges the least, between Rs. 50 lakh and Rs. 1 crore.

Some reports also suggest that while Samantha was paid Rs. 5 crore for a 3-minute song, the lead actress Rashmika Mandanna got Rs. 2 crore for the complete movie.
