The India-Australia test series which concluded few months ago was certainly a memorable one for the Indians as a less-experienced Indian side managed to clinch victory over a star-studded Australian team and that too in Australia’s backyard. Though the Indians won the series by 2-1, the Australian pacer Pat Cummins was adjudged as the Player of the Series as he took 21 wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The victory at the Gabba, Brisbane, was more special for the Indian squad as the Aussies hadn’t lost a single test match at this venue for the last 33 years.

Pat Cummins is presently in India as he is going to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 and while serving his quarantine, he conducted a Questions and Answers session on Instagram. One question that got the attention of many was the one in which a fan talked about the defeat of Australia at Gabba, Brisbane, and Pat Cummins gave quite a good reply.

The fan asked, “Reason of loss at Gabba” and Pat Cummins replied with, “India got more runs”. Not just this, he also shared his photo in which he is seen giving sad expression. Pat Cummins took six wickets in that match but was not able to save his team from losing the game and the series as well.

Pat Cummins also talked about his most memorable moment in the IPL which was in the IPL 2014. Pat Cummins made his debut in the tournament in the year 2014 when he played for KKR under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir and KKR won the league after defeating Punjab Kings (Kings XI Punjab) in the finals. Pat Cummins said that his most memorable IPL moment was winning the IPL 2014 and then next day watching thousands of people on the street celebrating the moment and going crazy. KKR has won the IPL two times, first in 2012 and then in 2014.

Pat Cummins also praised the former Indian cricketer and the then skipper of KKR Gautam Gambhir. He said that he enjoyed a lot playing under Gambhir, adding that the left-handed batsman was always aggressive which he liked a lot.

The Australian pacer also stated that he likes to see Jasprit Bumrah bowl and if we talk about KKR, it is Kamlesh Nagarkoti whose bowling he likes.

The former Indian cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra is of the opinion that Pat Cummins can break the back of opposition’s batting and his main job is to take wickets of couple of top order batsmen in the first six overs.
