The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian squad for the remaining two test matches and it is the same squad which was named for the first two test matches as the BCCI and selectors feel that there is no need of any change in the squad which has won the first two test matches against Australia.
The Indian cricketer KL Rahul has been removed from the post of the vice-captain and as per some reports, he will be replaced by Shubman Gill in the third test match. KL Rahul has been going through a lean phase for a long time now and many cricket fans have been demanding his ouster from the team but the team management is supporting him completely. Recently, the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma made it clear that they will keep on supporting KL Rahul as he is a top class player and has performed well in overseas conditions.
However, the BCCI and selectors chose not to name the new vice-captain of the team and they have handed over this responsibility to Rohit Sharma. As soon as this news went viral, Indian cricket fans started giving their opinions and majority of them are in support of Ravichandran Ashwin or Ravindra Jadeja.

The third test match will be played at Holkar Stadium, Indore, from 1 March 2023 and India will certainly like to win this important test if it wants to cement its berth in the finals of the World Test Championship 2021-23. India has to win the ongoing 4-match test series (Border-Gavaskar Trophy) by 3-0 or 3-1 in order to play the WTC finals.
