The T20 World Cup is going to start in June and it will be hosted by West Indies and USA. This time, Indian fans are quite hopeful that Rohit Sharma-led team will certainly win the trophy and end the ICC trophy drought.
MS Dhoni, the former skipper under whose leadership India has won three ICC trophies – 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy is playing superbly in the ongoing IPL 2024 and many of his fans are hoping to see him in the blue jersey once again which is obviously not possible.
As the T20 World Cup is just around the corner, the selectors are also looking for the players whom they will like to select in the Indian squad. Recently, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma attended a podcast and while chatting with former cricketers Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan, he shared his views on many matters.
When Rohit Sharma was asked about Dhoni’s cameo in the IPL 2024, Rohit Sharma talked about CSK’s match against Mumbai Indians and praised Dhoni for the manner in which he played only 4 balls and scored 20 runs which made the difference in the end.
On the question of MS Dhoni going to West Indies and USA, Rohit Sharma said that it will be tough to convince Dhoni to come to West Indies as he is sick and tired as well. Rohit Sharma added that Mahi can come to USA as now he is into golf and he may come to play golf in USA.
The senior Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik is also playing some great cricket in the IPL 2024 and he has played few blistering knocks for his team Royal Challengers Bangalore. When Rohit Sharma was asked whether there is any possibility of seeing Dinesh Karthik in India’s T20 World Cup squad, he said that he was quite impressed with the knock that DK played a couple of days back and certainly it will be easier to convince him to come to West Indies.
Rohit Sharma was talking about DK’s knock of 85 runs (35 balls) which he played against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
