“Plane Me Pehle Main Bethunga Aur…” Virat Kohli’s Funny Antics In 4th Test Will Leave You In Splits
The fourth and the final test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 ended in a draw and on the fifth day of the game, some unusual scenes were witnessed as the Indian cricketers were in a jolly mood after they came to know that India entered the finals of the World Test Championship. Though India needed to win this 4-match series by 3-0 or 3-1, the Aussies made a comeback in the series by winning the third test match after losing the first two test matches which made a win for India in the fourth test match absolutely necessary.
The fourth and the final test match ended in a draw and this could have ended India’s hopes of playing the WTC finals but India got help from New Zealand which defeated Sri Lanka in the first test match of the 2-match series. Sri Lanka needed to whitewash this series in order to secure its place in the WTC finals but a defeat brought an end to Sri Lanka’s all chances of playing the WTC final.
In the fourth test match, both the teams batted brilliantly and on the 5th day, everybody knew that this test would end in a draw so both the skippers – Rohit Sharma and Steve Smith ended the game after minimum number of overs were bowled. However, what made the Indian cricket fans smile a little was the antics of the Indian cricketers, especially Virat Kohli.
While Rohit Sharma chose to use Shubman Gill (1.1 overs) and Cheteshwar Pujara (1 over) as bowlers instead of his regular bowlers, Virat Kohli gave couple of fun moments to audiences as once he tried to troll the on-field umpire Nitin Menon. When the Aussie batter Travis Head was not given out, Virat Kohli took a hilarious dig at Nitin Menon by saying, “Main hota to out hota. Main hota to pakka out tha”. (If I had been there, I would have been given out.)
On one instance, Virat Kohli was heard saying loudly, “10 minutes mein khatm kar de match. Plane mein pehle baith jaunga. Aaj plane main udaunga”. (Finish the match in 10 minutes. I will sit in the plane first and I will fly today).

Virat Kohli has ended his century drought which lasted for more than 3 years by playing a superb knock of 186 runs in the fourth and the final test match and he needs to perform well in the WTC finals against Australia if India has to win the championship.
This is the second consecutive time that India has entered the WTC finals, earlier the Indian team played the finals of the WTC 2019-21 under the leadership of Virat Kohli which India lost to New Zealand. Hopefully this time India will win the WTC.
