When he was asked to comment on his links with the Karnataka government and why he is called anti-Hindu, he said,

“They say I am anti-Hindu but I say I am anti-Modi, anti-Amit Shah and anti-Hegde.”

This can be called a straight attack on PM Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and union minister Anant Kumar Hegde.

He also spoke about the murder of his friend and journalist Gauri Lankesh and alleged that her killing was supported by Modi supporters. As per him, when he asked PM Modi to speak on it, the PM remained silent. He went on to say that a person who supports killers can’t be a Hindu.

Prakash Raj said,

“When Gauri Lankesh, my friend, was killed… This whole thing started with a simple question – that I saw celebrations about her killing. I never said who killed (her). I said people are celebrating and this is violence, this is not right for the society. And the people who are celebrating this are following… And the Prime Minister of this country is following these people. Why is he silent?”

He also said,

“A true Hindu cannot support such activity.”

When Krishna Sagar Rao, BJP spokesman in Telangana, objected to his comments, the actor replied,

“When you can call me anti-Hindu, I have every right to say you are not Hindu.”

Prakash Raj also questioned PM’s silence on the controversy regarding “Padmaavat” and we are sure that the battle of words will continue for long.
