However, one thing which was noticed by the viewers was that many actors played different roles in the serial and one actor Aslam Khan played several characters.

In fact, Aslam Khan became a star despite the fact that he didn’t play any main character and he also became a meme material for the creative meme artists.

Recently, the team of Ramayan attended a press conference online and Prem Sagar, son of Ramanand Sagar, revealed the reason behind Aslam Khan playing many roles.

The main reason behind one actor portraying different characters was the cost and as they had kept 10-15 actors on the payroll, these used to play a number of characters in one show.

There were monetary restrictions because of which they were forced to make one actor play different roles; for example, the same actor played the characters of Chanud and Nand in Sri Krishna.

He also said that getting junior artists was also pretty difficult as it was the first time a mythological serial was being made. They used to send their team members to the villages, played dhols and made announcements that there would be a shooting tomorrow and the person who would come would get free food and Rs. 10.

Ramayan’s star cast included Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia, Sunil Lahiri, Sanjay Jog, Arvind Trivedi and others.
