The Hindi film industry is certainly going through a big change as many south Indian superstars are now making their presence feel in Bollywood and even the dubbed versions of southern movies such as “Baahubali”, “Pushpa:The Rise”, etc. are getting a lot of love from the Hindi audience. Many actors from south India such as Prabhas, Dhanush, Priyamani, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Rana Daggubati and others have also impressed the Hindi viewers and now they are getting many offers from the Hindi moviemakers.

Recently, the southern actress Priyamani whose work in the Hindi web series The Family Man was appreciated gave an interview in which she talked about how things are changing in Bollywood and finally the talent from the southern industry is getting recognized in Bollywood as well.

Priyamani who is mostly seen in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam movies said that in older days, the actresses from south such as Vyjayanthimala, Rekha, Hema Malini, Sri Devi, etc. used to rule Bollywood but after them, a time came when the southern actresses were not able to make a place for themselves in Bollywood. She added that Hindi-speaking actors were roped in to play the role of a south-Indian actor and the character was shown speaking in Hindi in a funny manner.

Priyamani further says that she has seen many Hindi movies and at that time, she used to think that south Indians don’t speak Hindi like this but perhaps the makers may have met people who used to speak in this manner. She added that after some time, the Bollywood moviemakers started hiring southern technicians and soon many technicians from south were making an impact with their work in the north.

She concludes by saying that finally the talent from the south is getting recognized over here and the actors from the south are getting the due respect.
