He is the son of Muslim farmer in a small town (Budhana) in Muzzafarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. He has eight more siblings. Yet he dared to dream, to make to big in the celluloid one day. Often when people quit dreams and succumb to the dreary situations, he on the contrary became more determined and said “Bhukha marna hai toh Mumbai mein jaake marun”, and entered in the world where dreams come true or you die in its hope. He worked as watchman in Delhi, and watched plays. The man behind all these struggle in none other than the power house of talent – Mr. Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

His days of struggle were much bigger than the so called struggle by actor with great surnames rather than talent. No doubt, it was his sheer talent that got him through National School of Drama – (Entry here is No cakewalk) – (Oxford University for actors in India), but what he lacked was the “White & Fairness Quotient” on which Bollywood talent is being judged. Does anyone remember his first movie, Shool (1999), he even shared a screen space with Aamir Khan in Safrosh in the very same year (1999). Things could have started to get better if he got even small roles in movie or TV. But then came the dry casting spell and he was broke, jobless (degree from NSD) for 5 long years. His another two movies also didn’t bring him much recognition which he was worth of – Munnabhai MBBS (watch the movie to see him) and The “Bypass”. Nonetheless, opportunity to come in him in the form of Peepli Live in 2010 where he was finally given his longstanding due and recognition. Black Friday showcased his talent to the world.
