The condition of the Indian Railways improved a lot under the Modi government but in the past few months, the Railways has gone from worse to worst and the saddest part is that no solid action is being taken by the officials of the Railways department and the ministry as well.
It won’t be wrong to say that the current Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw needs to handle many issues in order to ensure safe and sound journey of passengers. In past few months, many videos have been circulated in which ticketless passengers are seen entering the reserved coaches whether it is sleeper, 3rd AC, 2nd AC or 1st AC.
The ticketless passengers occupy the seats of the train and those who have paid for the tickets have to adjust despite paying a huge amount to the railways.
Recently, a passenger shared a video clip from Chhattisgarh Express (train no. 18237) and the condition of overcrowding was just horrific. Many people were seen sleeping near the attendant’s seat, outside the open toilet, under the wash basin while some were sitting or lying wherever they got space.
The X user posted the video with the caption, “ये तस्वीर छत्तीसगढ़ एक्सप्रेस (ट्रेन नंबर 18237) की है। सीट, फ्लोर, गेट, गैलरी, बाथरूम…जिसको जहां जगह मिली, वहीं बैठे-बैठे सो गया। यूरेशिया वाले रेल मंत्री जी, थोड़ा गरीबों वाली ट्रेनों पर भी ध्यान दीजिए, डिब्बे बढ़वा दीजिए। (This is from Chhattisgarh Express (train number 18237). Seats, floors, gates, aisles, bathrooms—wherever there’s space, people are sitting and sleeping. Railway Minister, please pay attention to trains for the poor too, increase the number of coaches.)
