The Bangladeshi cricketer Tamim Iqbal is making headlines everywhere whether it is print media or social media because of his sudden announcement of retirement from international cricket and then what was more shocking was his U-turn.
On Thursday, Tamim Iqbal attended a press conference in which he was very emotional and was in tears while announcing his retirement from international cricket and he even requested the reporters not to ask the reasons behind this big decision which implicated that there is more to the picture than meets the eye.
This decision left everyone, especially the Bangladeshi cricket fans, in a shocked state as the Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to be played in August-September and the mega event, ICC ODI World Cup will take place in October-September and Tamim’s retirement will certainly make the Bangladeshi team weak.
However, Tamim Iqbal once again shocked everyone by reversing his decision just a day after his announcement and there were reactions from the cricket fraternity as well.
The official Twitter handle of the IPL team, Rajasthan Royals took a jibe by posting four photos which feature MS Dhoni stumping Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal celebrating his fifty, Mark Wood celebrating wicket in Ashes and Tamim Iqbal with caption, “Fastest things in 2023”

The Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin also reacted with just one word, “woah” which is more than enough to suggest that he is also left surprised.

Jalal Yunus, the director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board told the media that Tamim Iqbal took his retirement back after he had a meeting with the Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her residence. Jalal Yunus also stated that Tamim Iqbal won’t be back on the field as of now because he will be taking a 6-week rest in order to get his fitness back as in the last six months, he was under physical and mental pressure which has affected his performance in an adverse manner.
This is not the first time that we are seeing a cricketer reversing his retirement decision but this is certainly the quickest one, what do you think?
