Last year, Jio created a dhamaka in the telecom market by launching 4G services. It took the 4G services to new heights and gave some wonderful offers to customers; Jio was lauded by the customers for its prices and data packs.
Many people still can’t afford 4G phones and this is the reason why 4G data usage is limited; it seems Reliance Jio has a solution for this too. The company is all set to enter the smartphone market with its “Cheapest 4G phones”.

Fresh reports have claimed that Jio is working on 4G VoLTE phones which will have a very cheap price tag. Currently, discussions are going on with Spreadtrum Communications (Chipset manufacturer) for facilitating these 4G phones at just Rs 1,500.
As of now, the cheapest 4G phone in the market costs Rs 3,000 and now, Jio plans to offer the same phones at 50 percent lesser price. Talks with Chinese OEMs like Uniscope, FortuneShip and Techchain are going on; engineering samples have been requested. Once the samples are tested, Reliance will finalize order numbers and other details.
There are speculations that by 2nd half of 2017, these phones would be launched. If these phones are launched in the market, they are sure to disrupt other competitors like Lava, Karbonn, Samsung, Sony etc. Moreover even the 4G data consumption would see a great boost since many people will be able to afford these smartphones.

Official confirmation is still awaited; we will keep you updated on this.
