Retired Post Master Builds A Mini- Taj Mahal For His Late “Mumtaz”

What will you do for the sake of your love? Can you think of building a Taj Mahal in the loving memory of your wife? Many of us would deter from even the thought of it, but this postmaster from the land of the wonder – Taj Mahal, made this dream of his wife come true.

An 80-year-old man from Bulandshahr has built a Taj Mahal in memory of his late wife- ‘Begum’. Faizul Hasan Quadri, a retired government official in a village in Bulandshahr of Uttar Pradesh is building a scaled-down replica of the historic Taj Mahal in memory of his wife Tajammuli Begum. Quadri has sold a piece of his farmland, his wife’s jewelry and used up his life’s savings to meet the spiraling cost of construction. His work is almost done and just needs more brushing up, this mini size Taj Mahal is going to set some serious #Relationship Goals.

His wife Tajamulli Begum died 58 years after their marriage due to throat cancer and thereafter Hasan Quadri is dedicated into completing the Taj Mahal, he has already spend more than 10 lakh on the construction. First he had to sell his agricultural land, and then again to meet the expense he sold his late wife’s jewelry to gift her the most treasured gift in his lifetime. Still now, more 6-7 lakhs are needed to marbling the whole construction, and he is waiting to do so before he dies.

The idea of building the monument striked him, while he and his wife were wondering if anyone will ever remember them after their death. A local mason helped him in building the “Mini – Taj Mahal”,
“I have told my brother to bury me here by the side of my wife. I have deposited the fees with the Wakf board also. Everything that comes has to go away some day. My wife is dead. I will also die someday. The monument too might not stand forever. I just wish to see it complete before I die,” said Quadri to a leading tabloid.
