The Indian cricket team is the champion of 2024 as it has lifted the trophy of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating South Africa in the final match of the tournament which was played at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 29 June 2024.
After batting first, the Indian team put up a score of 176/7 on the score board with the help of brilliant knocks of Virat Kohli (76 runs 59 balls, 6 fours & 2 sixes) and Axar Patel (47 runs, 31 balls, 1 four & 4 sixes). Though South Africa started their chase in a pretty good manner and there was a time when they needed to chase run-a-ball, the Indian bowlers held their nerves and managed to restrict the Proteas at 169/8 in 20 overs.
It was quite obvious that the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had to lift the trophy but the manner in which he walked towards the podium has left many in splits. Rohit Sharma imitated victory strut of American professional wrestler Ric Flair whose full name is Richard Morgan Fliehr.
The person who gave the idea of copying Ric Flair strut was the Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav and you can see this in a video clip which was posted by ICC along with the video clip in which you can see Rohit Sharma walking towards the podium and lifting the trophy. Even Argentine professional footballer Lionel Messi also copied Ric Flair’s victory strut when they won the Football World Cup.
The ICC posted the videos and photos with the caption, “One awesome trophy lift idea Swipe to watch Kuldeep Yadav’s role in Rohit’s legendary trophy lift walk”.

Ric Flair also reacted to Rohit Sharma imitating his victory strut and he celebrated it by posting Rohit’s video with the caption, “@ImRo45 Taking A Page Out Of My Playbook! WOOOOO!”

Congratulations to team India and all the fans!
