Rishabh Pant has been touted as a special player by many former Indian cricketers from the start of his career but he was also compared to MS Dhoni by the Indian cricket fans which made things problematic for him.

During an interview, Rishabh Pant stated that he was not able to understand why questions were raised on him, why he was compared with Dhoni because there can’t be a comparison between a player who has just started his career and has played only 5 matches with a player who has played 500 matches. He said that he wasn’t able to understand as to why he was called a replacement, he added that he used to cry a lot after going in his room when he was just 21-22 yrs old.

Rishabh Pant added that sometimes he was under so much of stress that he had problem in breathing and he had no idea as to how to deal with so much of pressure. He also referred to the incident which took place in Mohali, he said that he dropped a catch while keeping the wickets and the crowd started shouting, “Dhoni, Dhoni”.

However, the good thing is that these comparisons didn’t affect his relationship with MS Dhoni and talking about his relationship with Mahi, Rishabh Pant said that he always finds it a little difficult to explain his relationship with Dhoni but he is quite close as he talks freely to him and discusses even those issues with Mahi which he didn’t discuss with anyone else.

Well, fans of Rishabh Pant are quite eager to see him play cricket again! Best of luck Rishabh Pant!
