Littering on Platforms & Tracks can now cost you with huge amount of Rs. 5,000. NGT (National Green Tribunal) Chairperson, Justice Swatanter Kumar today passed directions to Indian Railways for maintaining cleanliness on Platforms as well as Tracks and announced a fine of Rs.5000 to all those not adhering to the rule & littering on Platforms & Tracks.

Railways had been directed by NGT to install Garbage Bins and Mobile Toilets after identifying the exact locations. Also Railways & other related authorities had been directed to collect the wastes and take necessary care for disposal & treatment of wastes.
