The Indian cricketer KL Rahul has been in great form since his return in the international cricket after the injury and his century in the first test against South Africa was certainly one of the best that has been smashed by any Indian batter in the history of Indian cricket.
What makes him stand apart from other cricketers is the fact that he is ready to play any position as per the requirement of the team and currently he is also keeping wickets for the team. It is not that India hasn’t tried other wicketkeeping options after Rishabh Pant met a car accident but KL Rahul seems to be the best one as he is a quality batter as well.
However, the big question as of now is what will happen after the return of Risbabh Pant as he is walking fast on the road to recovery.
The former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has shed his opinion on this matter. Talking about KL Rahul, he says that he is one player who cares about every format and he values each and every opportunity that he gets. He adds that he is looking two years from now and he can say that KL Rahul is in competition with Shreyas Iyer for the batting position in the middle order because after Rishabh Pant is fit, he will be the one who will play the role of wicketkeeper-batter for the team.
Sanjay Manjrekar also praised KL Rahul for his gritty century knock in the first test match as it was a mature and patient innings.
