Virat Kohli, the skipper of team India, may be the number one batsman in ODIs and Test matches in the present scenario and his fans may be calling him GOAT (Greatest Of All Times) but there was a time when he struggled a lot in the longer format of the game. At that time, the cricket experts, media and cricket fans were of the opinion that Virat does not belong to be there in the tests but it was the Indian skipper of that time, MS Dhoni who showed his faith in Kohli and gave him an extra chance.
On his first tour to Australia, the scores (11, 0, 23 and 9) of Kohli in the first two test matches sum up his performance. Nobody wanted him in the team except Dhoni and former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar.
Kohli justified Dhoni’s faith in him by scoring 44 and 75 in the third test and he kept the best for the last as he scored a brilliant century in the fourth test. Since then, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been playing superbly and he is undoubtedly one of the best batsmen that we have ever seen.
At that time in the year 2012, Sanjay Manjrekar posted a tweet in which he wrote that he will drop VVS Laxman and give Virat one more chance to confirm whether he belongs in test matches or not.
Sanjay Manjrekar’s tweet read, “I would still drop VVS & get Rohit in for next test. Makes long term sense. Give Virat 1 more test.. just to be sure he does not belong here.”

Recently that tweet was shared by a fan who called it the tweet of the decade.
This is the tweet of the decade for me. https://t.co/RZo54GTYxT

Sanjay felt proud of his tweet and talked about how everyone was against keeping Virat in the team. He also said that he is happy that he and Dhoni were on the same level or page at that time.
He tweeted, “Very proud of that tweet. In his 1st year in Tests, after scores of 11, 0, 23, 9 in Aus, I remember, fans/media saying Virat does not belong here & had his neck on the chopping block for the next Test. I said give him 1 more Test to be sure. Glad Dhoni & me were on the same page.😌”

Off late, Sanjay Manjrekar has been in news for not so good reasons and he has been slammed by many for his tweets and attitude; however, the tweet that he made in 2012 was definitely a good one, what do you say?
