These islands are being built in the Yellow sea, somewhere around Sohae, which lies at a distance of 200 kms from Pyongyang. Missile launches are speculated because Sohae is the hub for testing and development of missiles.

The satellite images aren’t that clear, however, the judgment is that the islands have observation areas, underground silos and missile launch pads. It is strongly believed that tKim Jong Un might use these islands for operating military facilities.

North Korea’s main focus is on intercontinental ballistic missile technology, which is why Sohae will be an apt location. The satellite images also show that the roads of these islands have turns, probably for missile bearing trucks. Moreover, there are some other areas too (Rectangular) which analysts feel might be launch pads.

Nothing can be declared on the basis of images alone; since last 3 years, North Korea’s missile attempts have increased to a great extent and hence, anything is possible now. There’s also a possibility that these islands are being built for civilian purpose, agricultural purpose or oil exploration, since abundant oil is found in the Yellow sea. Let’s wait and watch what happens.
