Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees Copied This Song Without Giving Them Any Credit!

Copyrights were penned down for a reason and the reason was quite obvious; to stop people from stealing credit for someone else’s art. Bollywood keeps bashing copyrights every now and then without any hesitation. Remaking someone else’s movie or song is now becoming more of a trend in Bollywood.

However, the hardship of artists do not go in vain as they receive due credit in the remake of their work. Another way of using other’s art is simply by buying it. Pay the artist whatever he desires and own his art without giving him any special mention. That said, in either way the ethnicity of artists get bashed. The copyrights however, get discriminated when a person uses someone else’s original art without their knowledge or consent.

In what could be a violation of copyrights, Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has copied a song from an original Bengali song by Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. The track ‘Udi Udi Jaye’ sounds exactly the same as one of Bhupen Hazarika’s old Bengali song. The striking similarities can be seen in the video below.

Earlier, Kamaal R Khan too alleged the track ‘Zaalima’ to have copied a few lines from one of KRK’s song through his tweet. He even went on to express generosity and said he won’t sue Raees for not giving him any credit. Nobody knows which song was he referring to. Dr. Bhupen Hazarika has a proof to support all these claims this time.

Unlike KRK, the claims made on the Bhupen Hazarika’s song have some strong relevance to reality. We just hope that the makers of Raees, if copied, give due credit to the original artists and also apologise to him for not doing so earlier.
