Shashi Tharoor’s Tweet Describing Bhel Puri In His Style Makes Twitter Go WTF

The Indian politician Shashi Tharoor is one of the most popular politicians of India and it won’t be hyperbole to say that his impeccable English skills have played an important role in making him famous. Shashi Tharoor, the Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, is also pretty active on social media networks and he has a pretty loyal fanbase; in fact you may be surprised to know that some online users follow him for the purpose of improving their vocabulary skills.

Recently, the Congress MP took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and made a post in which he gave the recipe of making the popular Indian roadside snack bhel puri. However, what made the difference is the style of writing as some really difficult words were used to explain the process of making bhel puri.

“Exotic crispy puffed wild rice from the Western Ghats rainforest, drizzled with an aromatic salsa-verde of Rajasthani desert cilantro & the chef’s secret micro-greens sourced from our exclusive greenhouses in the Nilgiris, bathed in a luscious salsa-rosso of Ras Al-Khaimah dates & exceedingly rare Assamese Bhoot Jolokia chillies known for fruiting once in twelve years, seasoned with a sauce of sweet Kerala beach-sand soil-grown tamarind & Malabar organic raw sugar; tossed in a bronze vessel with macedoines of Gujarati winter shallots & Vidarbha heritage potatoes and riotously festooned with a cacophony of Hyderabadi chickpea-flavoured crunchies ‘bugea’ & ‘papdy’ cooked ‘a la Marwaraise.”

While Shashi Tharoor captioned the image with, “As received on @WhatsApp. Good for weekend consumption!” with laughing emoji, at the end of the post, it can be read, “Commonly known as bhel puri, Got this recipe from Dr. Shashi Tharoor”.
