A girl refused to get married amidst all the wedding proceedings citing moral reasons as her cousin sister was kissed by her would be father-in-law. This unpleasant incident happened in Farrukhabad district of Kanpur city where Parmeshwari Dayal’s daughter Ruchi of Nagla Khairband village was supposed to get married to Baburam’s son Rajesh from Nehru Nagar, Jaithara, Etah.

All was going well as hoped and everyone was happy, during the Jaimaal, groom’s father kissed the Bride’s sister who was also standing on the stage with the bride. The cousin sister came from the Nagla Bhamrasa Village from the same district. Everyone, who was present there was shocked with this uncalled and shameful act of groom’s father.

Highly irritated with his conduct, Ruchi refused to marry and asked the Baraat party to go back. However, till then Rajesh’s father understood the gravity of the problem and apologized to the other party but Ruchi was not in the mood to compromise, even her mother who was called from Etah was not able to convince her.

The Police was intimated about the matter and the groom and his father were restrained in a closed area by the girl’s family and they were allowed to return only after they gave back the gifts and also paid Rs. 27,900, which was the expenditure done by the girl’s family on wedding activities.

SHO Kotwali RP Yadav stated, “Though police assistance was sought, the matter was resolved mutually by both the sides.”
