India captain Shreyas Iyer praised his bowlers for keeping their cool under pressure as India defeated the West Indies by 14 runs in the third T20 International in Indore on Sunday night. The victory gave India a 2-1 lead in the five-match series, with Shreyas Iyer highlighting his bowlers’ confidence, clear plans and ability to execute them at crucial moments.

India scored 223 runs before being bowled out in 20 overs. The West Indies started slowly but fought back to threaten the huge target, just as they had in the second T20I. However, India’s bowlers held their ground and restricted the visitors to 209/7, securing an important victory.
Speaking after the match, Shreyas Iyer said he was pleased with the way his bowlers approached their responsibilities. He explained that they were clear about their plans, confident in their abilities and ready to take on the challenge whenever they were given the ball.
Shreyas Iyer also praised the team’s batting performance, especially the contributions of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Abhishek scored brilliant 69 off just 30 balls, while Ishan added 37 runs from 18 deliveries, giving India valuable momentum with their aggressive batting.

The captain also highlighted Prince Yadav’s late contribution. Prince remained unbeaten on 13 off just six balls, adding crucial runs towards the end of the innings and helping India post a strong total. Shreyas Iyer described the start provided by Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan as excellent, admiring their ability to score quickly. He also noted Ishan Kishan’s impressive form over the past few months and stressed that Prince Yadav’s late cameo played an important role in strengthening India’s total.
The Indian captain further warned that the West Indies should never be underestimated, especially in high-scoring conditions. He said India needed to avoid becoming overconfident, stick to their plans and routines, and continue playing an attacking brand of cricket.
With this 14-run victory, India moved ahead 2-1 in the five-match series. The result highlighted the importance of strong batting contributions and disciplined bowling under pressure as the team looked to maintain its momentum in the remaining matches.
