The third test match of the 5-match series is currently being played between India and England at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot and India chose to bat first after winning the toss.
India didn’t start well as Yashasvi Jaiswal got out at the score of 10 runs but with the help of century knocks of Rohit Sharma (131 runs, 196 balls, 14 fours & 3 sixes) and Ravindra Jadeja (110 runs not out, 212 balls, 9 fours & 2 sixes), the hosts have managed to put 326/5 on the scoreboard by the end of the day 1.
The young cricketer Shubman Gill failed in making an impact with the bat as he wasn’t able to open his account in the first innings and got out after giving a catch to the wicketkeeper Ben Foakes on the bowling of Mark Wood. X users got angry and trolled him on the micro-blogging site.
Shubman Gill indeed scored a century in the second innings of the second test match which was played at Vizag but that came after many disappointing outings especially the 9 innings that he played at number 3 as it didn’t include a single fifty. There were speculations that Shubman Gill would get dropped after the Vizag test match but he saved himself from getting dropped by scoring a century in the second test match.
Here are some selected reactions from the Indian cricket fans who didn’t show any hesitation in calling Ruturaj Gaikwad a better batsman than Shubman Gill:

Shubman Gill should leave cricket now and do these things only.
Can't play matches with burdens like him who are more interested in unnecessary things than cricket.#ShubmanGill #Gill #INDvsENGTest #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/pQIaH5Pm5S— 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙮 (@hardy0_9) February 15, 2024

Two young Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel have made their debut in this test match and the former used this opportunity in a great manner as he scored 62 runs for which he played only 66 balls and his innings included 9 fours and 1 six. Sarfaraz Khan was looking dangerous as he was scoring at the strike rate of 93 but Mark Wood managed to get him run out and the debutant had to go back to pavilion.
The series is leveled at 1-1 with England winning the first test match which was played at Hyderabad and India making a comeback in the Vizag test and leveling the series.
At the end of the day 1, Kuldeep Yadav (1 run not out) is at the crease with Ravindra Jadeja.
