Sonu-Nigam’s In-Flight Concert Caused Serious Problems To The Cabin Crew

It is good to share a flight with a celebrity singer and make him sing some famous Bollywood numbers using the in-flight announcement system. It might be entertaining for flyers but an extremely serious matter for Indian aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
As per the reports, 5 air-hostesses of Jet Airways are grounded since they allowed Sonu Nigam to sing from the address system of the flight. This concert took place on the 4th of January during the chartered flight journey from Jodhpur to Mumbai.
Reports said that all passengers knew each other and put forth a special request to Sonu to sing for them. Highly obliged, the singer sang 2 songs – Panchhi Nadiya from Refugee and Do Pal Ruka from Veer Zaara.

When the passengers joined him, he was happy and appreciated their singing skills. Social media was filled with videos of the singer’s in-flight concert. However, the DGCA has taken the in-flight concert quite seriously and has taken all cabin crew of the flight off duty for corrective training as well as enquiry, so that they adhere strictly to the procedures of operating.
This is not the 1st time that Indian airline is facing trouble for allowing dancing or singing in the air. Earlier, there was an incident of a private airline making the crew dance mid-air on Holi to Balam Pichkari. However, notice was issued by the DGCA asking why license shouldn’t be suspended. Owing to such acts, the alertness of the crew is reduced and there are possibilities of the center of gravity being affected due to dance.
There was another European airline that makes the airhostesses dance to the tunes of Om Shanti Om on flights from and to India on Independence Day and Republic Day. Watch the full video of Sonu Nigam’s in-flight concert!
