In response, Ajay Devgn made a tweet in Hindi in which he asked Sudeep that if Hindi is not our national language, why southern movies are dubbed in Hindi and released in the Hindi speaking states. the matter between both the actors was settled after a little chat but it has once again started the debate of whether Hindi is our national language or not. While the north Indians especially from the Hindi speaking belt consider Hindi as the national language, the citizens of southern states consider it as an attempt to impose Hindi on them.

After this incident, many celebs including Sonu Sood and Ram Gopal Varma have also jumped in this debate and expressed their views over the matter.

Sonu Sood says that he feels Hindi can’t be called the national language because the nation has only one language and that is entertainment. He further adds that it really doesn’t matter from which industry a person belongs to but if he is able to entertain people, he will not only get the love of public but will also be honored by them. He concludes by saying that only good cinema is going to be accepted.

On the other hand, the famous producer-director Ram Gopal Varma alleges that the north Indian actors are jealous and insecure of the southern actors.

He tweeted, “The base undeniable ground truth @KicchaSudeep sir is that the north stars are insecure and jealous of the south stars because a Kannada dubbing film #KGF2 had a 50 crore opening day and we all are going to see the coming opening days of Hindi films”.

Later on in an interview, RGV said that the Kannada actor Sudeep Kiccha hinted towards a truth when he asked Ajay Devgn what if he had replied in Kannada in response to the tweet made by Ajay in Hindi and this has made everyone realize that there is nothing like north or south, there is just one India. RGV further says that Ajay Devgn doesn’t realize this truth but Sudeep Kiccha understands it.

The actress turned politician Divya Spandana who is better known as Ramya also slammed Ajay Devgn as she tweeted, “No- Hindi is not our national language. @ajaydevgn Your ignorance is baffling. And it’s great that films like KGF, Pushpa and RRR have done so well in the Hindi belt- art has no language barrier. Please enjoy our films as much as we enjoy yours- #stopHindiImposition”

Nevertheless, the Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has supported Ajay Devgn by saying that as per the constitution of India, Hindi is our national language but at one fell swoop, she also suggests that Sanskrit should be our national language as many languages have stemmed out of it and it should be taught compulsorily in schools.
