Sushma Swaraj Lashed Out At Sartaj Aziz In A Series Of Tweets For Not Issuing Visa For Jadhav’s Mother

On Monday, Sushma Swaraj, India’s Minister of External Affairs, slammed Sartaj Aziz, foreign affairs head of Pak, in harsh words, as the latter didn’t have “the courtesy even to acknowledge” the letter she wrote to him wherein she urged Aziz for granting Mrs. Avantika Jadhav a visa so that she could meet her son Kulbhushan Jadhav who’s an Indian citizen and has been sentenced capital punishment by the military court of Pakistan.

Initially, her tweets aimed at clearing the rumor spread by Pak media which stated that Pakistanis have been denied medical visas from India. Sushma took to Twitter to make the picture clear when she tweeted that Sartaj Aziz should be held responsible if citizens of Pak who urgently need medical treatment are not able to fly to India.

She further adds that India has no issues in granting medical visas and at the same time, she expresses her hopes that Sartaj “has consideration for the nationals of his country”.

Not only this, she also called people’s attention to the rules which have been changed in recent times and according to which, Pak citizens who require a visa for the purpose of medical treatment on an urgent basis should obtain a letter from Sartaj. She added, “But I assure Pakistan nationals seeking medical visa with a recommendation from Mr. Sartaj Aziz, we will issue the visa immediately.”

She also mentioned about a pending visa application from India “for an Indian national Mrs. Avantika Jadhav who wants to meet her son in Pakistan”. As per Sushma Ji, she had written a ‘personal letter’ to Sartaj in connection with the visa of Kulbhushan Jadhav’s mother; “however, Mr. Aziz has not shown the courtesy even to acknowledge my letter”.

In a series of tweets, Sushma Swaraj lashed out at Sartaj Aziz. Check out:

1) “I have my sympathies for all Pakistan nationals seeking medical visa for their treatment in India.”

2) “I am sure Mr. Sartaj Aziz also has consideration for the nationals of his country.”

3) “All that we require is his recommendation for the grant of medical visa to Pakistan nationals.”

4) “I see no reason why should he hesitate to give his recommendation for nationals of his own country.”

5) “We also have a visa application pending for an Indian national Mrs. Avantika Jadhav who wants to meet her son in Pakistan”

6) (Continued) “against whom they have pronounced a death sentence.”

7) “I wrote a personal letter to Mr. Sartaj Aziz for the grant of her visa to Pakistan.”

8) “However, Mr. Aziz has not shown the courtesy even to acknowledge my letter.”

Last week, Pak media said that the visa application of a Pak lady named Faiza Tanveer, who is suffering from cancer and wants to be treated in India, had been refused by the Indian embassy in Pakistan. She tweeted her urge and got a reply from the Indian embassy in Pakistan.

Well done, Sushma Ji! We hope that Jadhav’s mother will get to meet her son as soon as possible.
