But have you ever thought whether netizens actually verified the post prior to liking, sharing or commenting on it?
It’s a general fact that very few people actually feel the need of verifying or checking the truth before circulating it on the web and that’s the reason why we stumble upon several fake news and posts frequently on the Internet. Naturally, these are only meant for making a fool of people who are not-so-intelligent to check whether any such thing is really said or done or it’s just another fake news.
In the midst of wild hullabaloo at JNU, many people believed that Tata Group has denied employing any JNU student in their firm. This post received more than 73K likes, 21K shares and 6K comments just in 9 hours; although it’s now deleted.
This post went viral and Tata Group itself has to officially clarify that no such notification has been issued by them, as per Economic Times.
