“The Greatest Captain Is Back,” Twitter Reacts As Jadeja Hands Over Captaincy Back To Dhoni

MS Dhoni is certainly one of the smartest cricketers of the world and he has a great track record as a skipper whether he led the Indian national team or the IPL team Chennai Super Kings. CSK has won four IPL titles under the captaincy of MSD and there is no denying the fact that for cricket lovers, CSK is synonymous to Dhoni and vice-versa but the truth is that age is not on his side and he will be retiring from the IPL in a couple of years. Keeping this in mind, Dhoni handed over the captaincy of CSK to Ravindra Jadeja before the start of the IPL 2022 but things didn’t go as expected.

Ravindra Jadeja is one of the finest all-rounders of the present times but he had a disastrous start to his captaincy stint in the IPL 2022. Till now, CSK has won only 2 matches out of 8 that it played and Jadeja has also failed to impress with the bat as well. With almost no chance of entering the play-offs, CSK is left with an option to play for respect and pride but today CSK has made an official announcement which has surprised many.

As per the announcement, Ravindra Jadeja has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK once again as he wants to focus more on his game and Mahi has also agreed in the larger interest of the team.

The official handle of CSK tweeted, “Jadeja to handover CSK captaincy back to MS Dhoni: Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game & has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest & to allow Jadeja to focus on his game.”

As the tweet went viral, netizens started expressing their views in this regard. While the majority was happy with this decision, there were few who wanted Jadeja to continue as CSK has almost no chance of making it to the play-offs and by leading in the remaining matches, Jadeja would have learnt some valuable lessons of captaincy.

MS Dhoni has led CSK since the inaugural edition of the IPL which took place in 2008 but the big question is who will lead CSK after Dhoni because Jadeja has certainly failed badly. Who do you think will be the apt choice for becoming the captain of CSK post Dhoni’s retirement?
