Indians are widely known as patriotic people and it’s very shameful that our country is having discussion or rather debate on whether Tricolor should be hoisted in universities or not. The panelists against this are of the opinion that a line must be drawn between patriots and extreme-nationalists who don’t actually possess “patriotic” feeling; however, they are emotionally attached to India for the whole lot it has bestowed.

Recently, Respected Ret General G D Bakshi cred on the Newshour debate where there was a discussion going on the topic of hoisting the National Flag on each and every institute:

It was indeed a very painful moment for Major General (Retd) G D Bakshi that soldiers neither think of their own lives nor care about their own family but show concern for the whole nation as they believe that they are responsible for the safety and security of entire India which is their actual family and at such point, there are some citizens who talk of extreme-nationalism. They don’t get anything by sacrificing their lives but it’s pathetic to know that several people don’t value what they do for India and every Indian.

Smriti Irani called during the Newshour debate for expressing gratitude:

“Tragedy of my nation today, that I see tears in eyes of a brave soldier like you. We are grateful for your sacrifices and services. Under that flag everyday, knowingly, unknowingly know this we shall be grateful forever.”
