These Things Were Promised By AAP An Year Back! Know The Status Of Each Thing That Matters To You!

On 14th of February 2015, AAP or Aam Aadmi Party got great victory in Delhi Assembly Elections after it grabbed 67 out of 70 seats, which called for commitment towards common man. As the party completes 1 year, the statuses of all pre-poll promises made by AAP were tracked. We have highlighted only the top 10 things out of the list of 70. Here is the list!
AAP Performance

1. Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill

AAP resolves to legislate the Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill which ensures proper and timely investigations in corruption matters. It also had power of initiating prosecutions against those charged. Rewards and protection was promised to whistleblowers.

2. Citizen Local Area Development Fund

AAP promised to give a Citizen Local Area Development Fund to every Resident Welfare Association and Mohalla Sabha, ensuring funds in the hands of the community.

3. Reduce Electricity Bills to Half

Aam Aadmi Party would be taking measures for providing relief from rising power bills by fixing billing defects, bringing in an improvement in transmission efficiency and generating cheaper electricity.

4. Providing Water as a Right

Universal access to clean drinking water was promised by AAP to all citizens at affordable prices. There would be an amendment in the Delhi Jal Board act and clean drinking water would become the right of people.

5. Build 2 Lakh Public toilets

Aam Aadmi Party promised of building 2 lakh public toilets across Delhi out of which 50,000 would be in public spaces and 1.5 lakh would be in slums. Out of these, 1 lakh toilets would be for women. Eco-toilets would be constructed for saving water.

6. Starting 500 Government schools

Aam Aadmi Party would be building 500 new schools and its special focus would lie on senior secondary and secondary schools for ensuring that each child has access to good education.

7. Drugs at affordable prices

Drugs would be available without any corruption. Public can now avail high-quality and generic drugs at extremely affordable prices.

8. Suraksha button

Government would be providing a SOS/ Suraksha button on all mobile phones. This would help in ensuring connectivity to nearby PCR van, volunteers and police.

9. Creating 8 lakh jobs

Aam Aadmi Party would be creating 8 lakh new jobs in coming 5 years. An ecosystem would be created which would enable private industry in creating more jobs.

10. Affordable housing for all

AAP would construct affordable housing for all low-income groups. Since there is around 200 acres of vacant land lying with DUSIB (Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board), it can be used to provide affordable housing.
