Yes! You read it right!
There was an Internet Ban imposed in Gujarat for two days. All the mobile internet services were banned as per the orders issues by the State Government. It started on Saturday, 19th Sept, morning till Sunday, 20th Sept, midnight. This is one of the repercussions of Hardik Patels’ antics. After the ban was imposed, Hardik Patel was detained.
It has become a repeating practice by the government imposing Internet Ban. As mentioned by Shivanand Jha, Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad, “anti-social elements had tried to disrupt law and order situation using social media. To avoid repetition and keeping public safety in mind, mobile Internet and SMS services are banned from Saturday morning to Sunday midnight”.
To this people did not stay silent, there was rage against this internet ban on twitter. People expressed their anger with hashtags like #StopInternetBan, #BenDontBanInternet, and even trolled Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.
