This is not the first time that any Italian town is selling their houses at a low rate, earlier Salemi and Bisaccia have sold their houses and now Castiglione Di Sicilia is ready to sell its houses at a very low price. Castiglione Di Sicilia is a commune located in the Catania city, Sicily, which is in southern Italy. Castiglione Di Sicilia is located on the slopes of Mount Etna and is pretty close to the stunning beaches of Sicily which means it is definitely a great place to live.
There are around 900 abandoned houses which are up for sale and the prices of these houses have been decided as per their condition. Almost half of these houses are in a ruined state so they will be sold at a symbolic price of 1 Euro which will be around Rs. 90 in the Indian currency while the remaining houses are priced between 4K to 5K Euros which comes to Rs. 3.5 lakh-Rs. 4.5 lakh in the Indian currency. However, the majority of these houses are in the oldest part of the town and the new owners have to finish all the needed renovation work in the house within 3 years.
