Trollers Made Fun Of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ Title. Shah Rukh Slammed Them Like A Boss

SRK and Anushka starrer “Jab Harry Met Sejal” by Imtiaz Ali is all set to hit theatres on 4th Aug this year. King Khan has made a smart move by making sure that his flick doesn’t clash with “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” starring Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar. Just to inform, both these movies were previously slated to release on Aug 11. This wonderful step by SRK will not only benefit both the films but also help the business of moviemaking.

Fans of Shah Rukh and Anushka are pleased to know that the flick’s release date has been preponed but at the same time, few people are not contented with the title, i.e., “Jab Harry Met Sejal”. Social media users are particularly dissatisfied taking into consideration the fact that the title of the movie bears a resemblance with two popular romantic flicks – Jab We Met (Bollywood) and “When Harry Met Sally” (Hollywood).

Controversy king and self-proclaimed critic KRK took to Twitter and wrote this about the film’s title:

SRK recently had an interaction with Mid-Day in which he told that there’s much more to the film’s title and folks would have to understand it. Here’s what Shah Rukh told:

“We are all too close to the film to be objective. I was reading an article where the writer has taken great pains to go into the depth of why the film’s title is not good. People have to understand it’s just the title, there’s more to the film. There’s got to be a strong enough reason why the film is called that.”

On the question of other titles which had been going viral prior to the announcement of the current title officially, King Khan had this to say,

“The Ring would have been boring. Rehnuma was something we were considering, but it just didn’t go with the story. This is an upbeat film about Sejal Parikh (Anushka Sharma) and Harinder Mehra (his character). It’s not like I am not happy with the title. I am happy, but eventually, it’s the director and the writer, who are most attached to the name. I am reluctant to say that Ranbir Kapoor gave it.”

We wish that the movie proves to be a blockbuster and gives some boost to Shah Rukh’s career, as few of his previous movies couldn’t do well on the box office.
