And under-construction flyover in Kolkata collapsed due to which more than 60 have been injured and minimum 18 have lost their lives. The flyover was being constructed on the intersection of a packed road near Girish Park and as it collapsed, it crushed many vehicles, street vendors and walking public.
The Indian Army and NRDF teams are working day and night for rescuing the victims; however, on Friday, they made a statement saying that there is very less possibility of finding any body under the debris now.
This is what an Army officer said, “The focus of operations is now on debris removal and clearance of the road so that normalcy is restored. As of this morning no more bodies are expected to be found under the rubble.”
The construction of the flyover was done by a Hyderabad-based construction firm called IVRCL and the first statement which has come from the company only shows their insensitiveness and irresponsible attitude. The management of the company has said that the incident was ‘nothing but an act of god’.
