Unbelievable Happened In Facebook’s History! Man Blocked For 1Month Got Unblocked Within 48Hrs

The social media has now become a very powerful platform and its reach has surpassed the reach of print and electronic media; however like every other thing, it also has its pros and cons. The social media networks may block or suspend your account if you violate their rules and regulations or if someone reports against a post made by you.

The account of Rajiv Tyagi, a former fighter pilot who is based in Meerut, was blocked for a month as he shared an “anti-Hindu post” which was “objectionable” as per the community standards of Facebook.

However, his friends launched a campaign to get him unblocked and it had such a great impact that the management of Facebook was forced to unblock him in less than 48 hours. Amazing and unbelievable, isn’t it?

Rajiv, a social media activist who is against the saffron brigade and Modi government, has 4,383 friends and 22,997 followers on Facebook. He has been posting ferociously against the demonetization step taken by the Modi government to curb black money and terror funding.

In the words of Rajiv Tyagi,

“This time I did not even write a post, but only shared one written by someone else. It was related to sarcasm about Hindu-Muslim hatred. It was done on Sunday and when I logged in on Monday morning, I found I had been blocked. A notification had come that my post had been removed as it did not conform to community standards set by Facebook.”

Rajiv’s life-partner Seema is also very active on the social media networks and she shared this news with Rajiv’s friends who promptly started garnering support for him on Facebook.

Prateek Sinha, one of Rajiv’s Facebook friends, posted about the whole incident and asked other friends to support him. The same type of posts started getting posted on Facebook and people came to support the man in such a huge number that the management of Facebook was compelled to look into the matter.

Umang Bedi, Facebook managing director, India and South Asia, wrote this, “Our teams are looking into this and will revert, rest assured” in response to a post made by Rakhshin Patel.

Rajiv Tyagi was unblocked on Tuesday evening and since it was no less than a celebration, the news was liked more than 2,500 times plus a number of comments were posted on Facebook in support of Rajiv. For instance, a user Nitin Basrur posted,

“Bravo! Finally, Facebook has woken up to the dirty tricks played by Modi-bhakts, and it has responded by lifting the block on Rajiv Tyagi’s Facebook account.”

Here’s what Rajiv said,

“The current environment seeks to straitjacket everyone into a monochromatic set of beliefs, using religion, nationalism, dying soldiers and a fake patriotism to cow down the populace. It is very important that we all remain liberal, rational citizens to educate our fellow citizens to preserve the secular and egalitarian values that were embedded into our Constitution. My goal is only confined to upholding these values through social media platforms.”

Well, after this incident, we can say that “Facebook Par Har Ek Friend Zaruri Hota Hai”.
