The Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan who is also known to be a perfectionist among his fans is famous for not attending award shows as he has said in an old interview that commercial awards hold no value for him.
Recently, Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan who debuted in Bollywood in 2008 with “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na” also opened up on his uncle’s stance. He says that they belong to a family where everyone is serious towards their craft and they are not much interested in the glitz and glamour of the industry. He adds that they are taught to focus on their craft, everything else is just sprinkles on the top and they should not get distracted with it.
Imran Khan further says that commercial awards are usually given to those who are in the town at that moment. He recalled his own experience as he said he attended many award functions after the release of “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na” and he came across many things which were quite strange.
Imran Khan’s debut movie was a big hit and he was seen in some films after that as well but after giving successive flops, he disappeared from the industry and now he is going make a comeback after a huge gap of 9 years. While Aamir Khan played an important role in Imran Khan’s debut, he is again playing an important role in Imran’s comeback.
Many other actors such as Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, etc. have also made fun of commercial awards and now even the audiences don’t give much importance to such awards. What is your take on this matter?
