There is no denying the fact that the Indian cricket team is playing great cricket in this ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as it is the only team which hasn’t got defeated in the league phase. India ended the league phase by winning their 9th league match against Netherlands by 160 runs, the match was played yesterday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
The skipper of the Indian squad, Rohit Sharma is very happy with his team’s performance. After the match, he said that since the tournament started, they looked at one game at a time and didn’t look too far as it is a long tournament. He also added that it is important to focus on one game.
Rohit Sharma stated that they had to play at different venues and they needed to adapt to them which his team did in a good manner and he is happy with the way his team played in the nine matches.
Rohit is quite happy with the fact that different players stepped up whenever it was needed which is a good sign and he called his team’s performance ‘very clinical’.
Hitman said that they knew the conditions but still facing different opponents is a challenge and his team adapted well. He added that in the first four matches, they batted first and his bowlers, both pacers and spinners also performed pretty well.
Rohit Sharma also talked about the impact of the wins on the environment of the dressing room. He said that results certainly play an important role in keeping the environment of the dressing room lively, there will be a lot of expectations from them but they want to keep everything aside and focus on the game. He added that they just want to enjoy on the field which will reflect in their performance as well.
The Indian team will now face New Zealand in the first semi-finals of the tournament that will be played on 15th November 2023.
