Since then, the team has come agonizingly close, falling short in the semi-finals of 2015 and 2019 before finishing as runners-up in 2023. Virat Kohli, who has been a cornerstone of the Indian batting lineup for over a decade, is determined to end this drought before he eventually steps away from the international stage.
