The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is back on the cricket field as his team Royal Challengers Bangalore faced Chennai Super Kings yesterday in the match which was played at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai.

Virat Kohli pulled out his name from the 5-match series against England as his wife Anushka Sharma was pregnant with their second baby. On 15 Feb, Anushka Sharma gave birth to their baby boy whom they have named Akaay and now Virat Kohli is back to fulfill his cricketing duties towards RCB.

Virat Kohli is known for his energetic attitude and it’s an open secret that he loves to dance. In fact, yesterday during the CSK innings, he was seen dancing on the song “Appadi Podu” from the 2004 movie “Ghilli”.

As far as the match is concerned, the RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first. They had a steady start as the openers Virat Kohli (21 runs) and Faf du Plessis (35 runs) stitched a partnership of 41 runs for the first wicket but after that, they lost two quick wickets in succession. Rajat Patidar’s poor form followed him from the India-England series and he got out for duck plus the Aussie cricketer Glenn Maxwell also failed to open his account.

While Cameron Green got out at the score of 18 runs, the two batters who brought RCB back in the game were Anuj Rawat (48 runs) and Dinesh Karthik (38 runs) who helped their team in putting up the total of 173/6 on the scoreboard in their stipulated 20 overs.

In response, CSK lost their new skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (15 runs) quite early but Rachin Ravindra played a good innings as he scored 37 runs for which he played only 15 balls and his innings included 3 fours and 3 sixes. Ajinkya Rahane (27) and Daryl Mitchell (22 runs) also played useful innings and Shivam Dube (34 runs not out) and Ravindra Jadeja (25 runs not out) ensured that their team started their IPL 2024 campaign with a win.

CSK won the match by 6 wickets and they successfully chased the target with 8 balls remaining in their innings.
