Virender Sehwag Announces Retirement From International Cricket - Dint Get A Respectable Farewell - RVCJ Media

Man who changed the game of cricket by showing the world that runs can be scored without wasting balls has announced the retirement today. Yes we are talking about Virender Sehwag who gave new vision to Indian cricket team. It was Sehwag who started the revolution of scoring quick runs in powerplay overs that helped Indian cricket to gain the momentum. Not only in ODIs, this man has also scored quick runs in test matches and helped Indian team gaining the first spot in test rankings.

Sehwag is the only Indian cricketer to score triple century and he did it twice. Sehwag scored total of 17253 runs in International cricket that includes ODIs, T20s & test matches. He played 104 test matches and made 8586 runs at an average of 49.34. In 251 ODIs, he scored 8273 runs at an average of 35.05 with a whopping strike rate of 104.3. He is only player to have strike rate above 100 having runs more than 8000.

Today is black day for Indian cricket. I am very disappointed in writing this. My hands are shivering and I am more angry on MS Dhoni & BCCI for not giving him chance to get a respectable farewell. If BCCI or MS Dhoni had some respect for Virender Sehwag then they would have given him a respectable farewell by including him in last two ODIs against South Africa. Even Shikhar Dhawan is wasting 50 balls in every match to score just 10-15 runs, instead of Shikhar Dhawan they could have included Sehwag who could have scored 20 runs in just 6-7 balls. It’s shame for BCCI & MS Dhoni that they didn’t give this man a respectable farewell. He has earned a lot of respect from his fans and respectable farewell was indeed required.

Share your views about what do you think whether Sehwag should have been selected for last 2 ODIs so that he can get respectable farewell from Cricket. He has done a lot for International cricket as well as Indian cricket. Share your views in comments section below
