Sunrisers Hyderabad could reach IPL finals only due to one man and that’s Rashid Khan. He made 34 runs in 10 balls and also took 3 wickets. Everyone was pouring in their praises for Rashid on Twitter.
Indians so wished he could play for the Indian team, which is why they even demanded Indian citizenship. However, Ashraf Ghani, president of Afghanistan said that they are not giving away Rashid Khan as he’s a treasure.
After yesterday’s performance, he surely deserved “Man of the Match award”. In the post match ceremony, we were glad to see him receive it. However, what he did with his award won our hearts. Well, he dedicated the award to blast victims in Jalalabad (Afghanistan), his native place.
He said, “I want to dedicate this award to those who lost their lives in a blast during a cricket game in my hometown,”.
We are happy that Rashid Khan dedicated his award and thought beyond himself; it shows that no matter how popular he becomes, humanity comes first for him.
This is not the only incident that impressed us. Even in post-match team celebrations, Rashid refused to have champagne because Islam doesn’t allow so. We are proud to see so much respect for religion!
At the end, we can see one thing that Rashid Khan is not just a fantabulous player, but he is an equally awesome human being too.
