Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are among the most loved and popular veteran couples of Bollywood. Their vintage interviews continue to captivate fans, offering a nostalgic view of their illustrious careers. These interviews also provide insight into their enduring relationship and how it has evolved over the years.
One such memorable moment is a 1983 BBC interview where Jaya Bachchan had taken a break from films. This period followed her appearance in “Silsila” (1981) in which she starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. When asked about her decision to step back from acting, Jaya humorously responded that her hands were full with three kids at home.
When the host asked Jaya Bachchan who those three kids are, Amitabh Bachchan displayed his wittiness and funny side by adding that that the two kids she referred to are actually their son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Shweta Bachchan while the third one is he himself.
Years later, Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan appeared on Koffee With Karan’s second season, alongside another iconic Bollywood duo, Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol. During the chat, Shweta Bachchan stated that her brother Abhishek deals with everyone in a smooth manner, when he is with mother, he tells her that she is right and he does the same thing with father but she gets in trouble because she always has an opinion.
After that, Jaya Bachchan stated that the biggest baby of the house takes more attention than anyone else in the house. When KJo asked whether she is talking about Abhishek, Jaya replied in negative but when Karan Johar took Amitabh’s name, she smiled and agreed.
Well, difficult to believe but Amitabh Bachchan also behaves like a kid…. On the other hand, it proves that there’s a kid hidden in every person, regardless of age, what do you say?
