In the film, Prabhas plays the character of Bhagwan Ram, Kriti portrays the role of Maa Sita, Saif Ali Khan plays the character of Ravana and Sunny Singh plays Lakshman but people haven’t liked the manner in which these characters have been portrayed and they are also very disappointed with the VFX and graphics of “Adipurush”, especially when the movie is said to be made in the budget of Rs. 450 crore.

Soon the makers were trolled by netizens and various people from the TV and movie industry also gave their reaction on the teaser. Now Sunil Lahri, the actor who played the character of Lakshman in 1987 released TV series Ramayan which was directed by Ramanand Sagar has reacted on this matter and he is also pretty upset with the first teaser of “Adipurush”.

During an interview, Sunil Lahri said that the VFX of “Adipurush” teaser was really difficult for him to digest. Talking about the times of 1987 Ramayan, Sunil stated that they were new to technology at that time but they tried to get the best results by making maximum efforts and this is why the TV series is still praised and appreciated even after 35 yrs of its release. The actor further says that even the young generation of today doesn’t feel that the show had cartoon effect and if this type of technology had been available at that time, Ramanand Sagar would have made something better. He adds that though the industry has evolved in regard to VFX, still it will be difficult to achieve the visual feat that Ramanand Sagar managed to get in Ramayan.

Sunil Lahri also gave an insight to those times in terms of serial making as he said that earlier everything used to take place manually but in present times, there are presets for everything and the makers of current times stick to that as they don’t want to make efforts. He added that even though they also used blue and green screen, they still took care of each and every detail and worked pretty hard. Sunil Lahri further revealed that it took them four days to shoot the sequence in which Hanuman ji carried Ram and Lakshman on his shoulders because each detail was looked after properly.

People have also expressed their unhappiness over the manner in which the characters have been portrayed, especially the characters of Ravana and Hanuman ji.

Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan aired on DD National in 1987-88 and the character of Bhagwan Ram was portrayed by actor Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhalia played the role of Sita, Dara Singh played the role of Hanuman and Arvind Trivedi was seen as Raavan.
