Youngsters nowadays are pretty obsessed with tattoos and we can see many of them sporting tattoos of different designs and sizes. However, at the same time, we also get to hear that tattoos are harmful for health and today we are going to tell you about a frightening incident which will make you think at least twice before planning to get a tattoo.
Catt Gallinger who hails from Canada is a tattoo and piercing enthusiast.
She is left totally blind with one eye after she made up mind of getting a sclera tattoo. Just to inform, sclera tattoo is drawn on the white area of the eye.
In September, Catt wrote a post in which she talked about the results of failed tattoo procedure.
She had a painful swollen eye and even her tears were purple in colour.
As per Catt, it was her boyfriend who forced her for having a sclera tattoo.
This is what she wrote in her Facebook post:

so this was done by Eric Brown three weeks ago. As it stands I will have to see a specialist and am at risk of being blind if it doesn’t get corrected.
This was caused by undiluted ink, over injection, not enough/smaller injections sights. There are multiple people who can attest that my aftercare was good and any other part of what I am saying.
I am NOT sharing this with you to cause trouble, I am sharing this to warn you to research who you get your procedures by as well as how the procedure should be properly done.
I have been to the hospital three times, I had no furry pets to cause any dander, and I wash my hands every time I do anything with my eye, both before and afterwards.
I was on antibiotic drops for the first week and a half and have been on steroid drops for four days now, with little success at bringing down the internal swelling. The external swelling lasted for almost a week.
The photos show the day of (purple drop), the day after(swollen shut) and now three weeks later. I will add more throughout the process
Just please be cautious who you get your mods from and do your research. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.
I will be posting updates during the process publicly on my wall.”
Here’s what she told Vice,
“The artist, my ex-boyfriend, just kept pushing me until I got it done that night. We were only together for a month but I’ve known him for years. It was something I thought I could trust him with because he had a portfolio. I was wrong.”
Catt also alleged that her boyfriend didn’t even take proper precautions before making the tattoo. In her words,
“He did not dilute the ink with saline, he just put pure ink in my eye. He used a very large needle and went too deep.”
Catt underwent a surgery on November 23 and before the surgery, she was told that if surgery is not successful, there is a risk of her cornea getting cracked as it would be too thin. As the surgery was unsuccessful, she has lost her eye.
