Post demonetization, people are facing loads of problems owing to lack of currency. They either have to depend on e-wallets or on other digitized methods of payments. Now, when it comes to travelling, people are giving a lot of preference to online taxi services like Uber, Ola etc. Obviously, these services are quite cheap and moreover, they are hassle-free and convenient.
Gone are those days when there used to be just restricted options like expensive autos and kaali peeli taxis. However, the new concept hasn’t gone down well with the auto drivers and they are trying all possible ways to convince customers to not opt for the newer versions. Some even threaten the customers, as in this case. It was HEIGHTS!
A resident of Kerala, Vidya Gopalakrishnan, booked a cab to Kakkanad from Ernakulam railway station. However, the auto drivers were so rowdy that they threatened her to get down immediately.
Vidya took a video of these rickshaw drivers and uploaded on YouTube. These guys were talking in Malayalam language and were threatening her and the taxi driver. When they saw her making the video, they became all the more furious and told Vidya that it is not going to be of any use.
The auto-drivers also harassed and told her that the Transport Commission has put up a “Written rule” which states that cabs like Uber, Ola and others aren’t allowed in the area. Even though Vidya explained them that she took the cab because she feels assured and safe, they were in no mood to listen. They physically assaulted the driver; it’s so cruel!
Moreover, the auto drivers told her that if she fails to comply to those written rules, they might force her to take her luggage and leave.
Vidya shared this incident on Facebook and also shared the video; have a look…

This is so wrong, isn’t it? If women feel safe in a cab, how can auto drivers threaten her this way? Do share your views in our comments section below!
