Women Are Advised Not To Get Pregnant Until Vaccine Of This Virus Is Found

The World Health Organization has warned about a Zika virus, which is mosquito borne disease and causes some serious birth defects. It has also stated that there are chances of this disease being spread in all the nations in America except Canada and Chile.

The symptoms of this infection are mild fever, conjunctivitis and headache and it results in babies being born with small heads and underdeveloped brains. In fact, some countries have advised ladies not to get pregnant as presently there is no vaccine or medicine available for its treatment.

It has been spreading at a very fast rate after its detection in Brazil in May, 2015. A person gets infected by this virus after getting bitten by Aedes mosquito which is found in all countries except Canada and Chile.

PAHO (Pan American Health Organization), the regional office of WHO, has made a statement according to which, “PAHO anticipates that Zika virus will continue to spread and will likely reach all countries and territories of the region where Aedes mosquitoes are found.”
