Whenever we eat out, we try to make sure that we eat at a restaurant or outlet which is clean, has good reputation and most importantly, hygiene should be an imperative aspect for the staff of that outlet. McDonald’s is a brand name and undoubtedly, we expect a lot from this fast food chain, whether it’s taste of food, quality of ingredients used or hygiene at the cooking place. But Priyanka Moitra of Kolkata had a horrifying experience with McDonald’s.
Priyanka is pregnant as of now and she went to the McDonald’s outlet which is located near EM Bypass with her daughter on Tuesday morning. French Fries had been ordered by them but to their great shock, Priyanka’s daughter found a deep-fried lizard with the French Fries.
Just by looking at the dead lizard, Priyanka felt sick and what frightened her more was the health of her baby and daughter. She immediately informed the manager about the incident but the response was highly unexpected. She told,
“When I told the outlet manager about the incident, he showed a careless attitude and left with just a sorry.”
As reported by Times Of India, she decided to take further action, so she clicked the deep-fried reptile in the French Fries and lodged an FIR against the McDonald’s outlet at Phulbagan police station.
Sanjay Moitra, Priyanka’s husband is presently in Lucknow and his reaction was as shocking as that of Priyanka’s:
“I’m shocked! I’m concerned about my family’s health. My wife is pregnant. How can McDonald’s be so careless? As soon as I heard about the incident, I contacted Delhi and Kolkata’s McDonald’s office, but they didn’t bother. There’s been no apology, they just want us to send it to them for analysis.”
An officer of McDonald’s from Delhi, Raja Mani, said,
“A customer allegedly found a foreign body in their food. We take all reports of this nature very seriously and investigate them thoroughly.”
This is a serious mistake on the part of McDonald’s Kolkata outlet and we hope that the top management takes strict action. Do share your views in this connection in the comments section below.
