You’ll Earn A Re 1 Compensation For A Dropped Call - RVCJ Media

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has came harshly on the telecom operators on the matter of call drop and issued a directive that telecom operators need to pay Re 1/call drop as compensation to the customers.

This information was first made public by the television channel ET Now and as per the report a customer can get compensated for maximum 3 calls in a day if the calls drop and it is said that the regulation issued by TRAI will be imposed soon.

If the sources are to be believed, this decision has been taken by TRAI just to ensure that telecom operators fulfill the compliances strictly.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, the minister of Communication and Information Technology said that directions have been given to TRAI to punish any operator who is engaged in encouraging call drops.

This is what Ravi Shankar Prasad told the media, “The central government is very much serious on the call drop issue, right from the beginning. Inquiry is going on for the last five to six months on call drops. The telecom department is monitoring the situation across the entire country, and even BSNL is working to improve the situation. The TRAI has even been told to penalize the operator in case of call drop. The TRAI is working in this direction.”

As per the latest report of TRAI, the problem of call dropping has almost doubled in the peak hours in the last one year.
